Hello everybody I will be continuing my college football blog this year so i hope you’ll tune in for my first post next monday.

Week 3

This week in class i learned how we are going to do our project. I also learned via live demonstration how to use the bansaw. Cutting the wood and making the structure is gonna be the east part. The wiring is gonna really challenge my electrical control knowledge.

Next week i’d like to learn how we will be wiring our project. I will be working with John to figure that out. Hopefully we will be able to test it a few times so we dont go into the project not knowing if it’ll work.

I plan on learning this by reviewing the Electrical Control Module and by brainstorming with John. I have complete confidence in the two of us to be able to wire it correctly.

Ohio State plays Iowa this weekend at THE SHOE. Whoever win will be crowned as the big ten champion and will get an automatic bid to the Rose Bowl. Iowa lost last week against Northwestern and even worse, lost their starting QB to an ankle injury. He will be out till bowl season. Iowa’s shaky offense has not faced a defense like ohio states all year. Especially since they will be starting a redshirt freshman, Ohio State is a 17 point favorite. I dont think the game will be close. Pryor will come out reeling after his successes against a very sturdy Penn State defense. Look for OSU to come out hot, score early, and never look back.

Smelling Roses

On Saturday, Ohio State went into Happy Valley and dominated Penn State in all aspects of football with a 24-7 victory. Iowa lost there QB and their undefeated season against Northwestern. Now, since Iowa and Ohio State both have 1 conference loss than the winner of this weekends matchup will get the Rose Bowl bid for the Big 10.

Florida and Alabama looked extremely slow in their victories over awful Vanderbilt and overrated LSU. I think that when the time comes to face some stiff competition(bowl games) they will get put into their respective places.

This week in engineering,i learned that we really have no idea how to do our master project. Schuster, John, and i have brainstormed through out the week and come up with nothing. Next week i hope to learn how on earth we will be doing this master project. I will learn this by research and complete guesswork.

Today in Engineering, i’ve decided to start my reasearch paper. My topic is individual organization and contribution to handicapped assistance. The individual that i will be researching is Harry C Jennings Sr.

Harry C Jennings Sr. invented the first wheelchair model that is seen today. A miner with the last name Everest was in an accident and could no longer use his legs. Jennings invented the wheelchair and shortly afterword, Jennings and Everest began their own wheelchair making company.

Week 9

Big East: Zach Collaros threw for 3 TD’s in Cincinnati’s win over Syracuse. South Florida took apart West Virginia over the weekend by shutting down Noel Devine. West Virginia by no means is out of the Big East title mix but they’ll need some help down the stretch. It looks like the winner of the Big East will be the winner of the Cincy vs. Pitt game if they both go into the game unbeaten.

ACC: Miami cameback in the fourth quarter after falling behind to Wake Forest. Jacory Harris engineered a last minute drive to take the lead with less than a minute to go. Georgia Tech, after struggling on defense in the first half, had an excellent second half and put up points against Vanderbilt. Virginia Tech lost on thursday night to UNC. UNC forced a fumble with less than a minute and a half left. They let the time run down and kicked a last second field goal to push virginia tech out of the ACC championship race.

Pac 10: USC went to Oregon where they haven’t won in four years. Oregon started slow but in the end blew out USC and solidified there chances to take the Pac 10 title away from USC for the first time in seven years. USC may be out of the Pac 10 race, but they’re still USC and will be in contention for the Pac 10 title every year. The Pac 10 is looking to have two teams, Oregon and USC if they win out, in BCS games this year.

Big 12: Texas basically ended their season with a 41-14 victory over Oklahoma State. OSU was there only legitamate challenge left aside from the big 12 title game. Texas’s path to the big game seems to be an easy won.

SEC: Florida finally got its offense rolling after a slow start to the season. They put up 41 in a 41-17 victory over Georgia who is plain awful this year. Tim Tebow has apparently put himself back in heisman contention, but not first place. Ole Miss, projected contender in the SEC West, lost again to a mediocre Auburn team. This screams of the SEC’s overratedness.

Big 10: Iowa did it again, this time coming back from a 14 point defecit at the end of the first half. They were down 7 at the start of the fourth and started to roll beating Indiana 42-24. Their comeback victories have had positive and negative effects in the polls but they are still in the best position to go to the BCS if one of the top 3 slips up in the regular season. Illinois finally ended their losing streak by beating UM. OSU gained some confidence and momentum going into this weekend’s Big Ten marquee matchup at Penn State. I personally believe that Terrelle Pryor will come out blazing and lead OSU to a 7 point victory.

Master Project 1

To my loyal viewers. This week in engineering i learned alot about handicap assistance technology including a history of the wheelchair. There are many “wheelchairs” that have been invented. One was made for King Phillip II of Spain. The model that is used today, however, was created by Harry Jennings.

Next week i hope to learn how exactly we will be doing our master project. I will be contributing ideas and concepts to aid my team in finding the answer to our problem statement.

Some big games this weekend include Texas vs. OKST, USC vs. OU, FLA vs. UGA. All of these games will go to the favored team especially Florida vs. Georgia. Georgia sucks.

Rebound

Mr. Kastenberg has altered our requirements for our blogs. we will now be blogging every Friday in the last 10 minutes of class. However, he said i could still blog as much as i want so i will have 1 blog all about college football and another about engineering and college football. Today’s blog is all about college football.

ACC: Georgia Tech went to Virginia last weekend and after a slow start, got their offense rolling. Miami on the other hadn lost in overtime to Clemson. C.J. Spiller has over 300 all purpose yards and jumped into heisman contention.

Big 12: Texas went to Missouri and obliterated the Tigers. The game wasn’t even close at kickoff. If Texas keeps this hotstreak going then they could easily get to the big game unscathed and win it. In a press release, Sam Bradford will be entering the NFL Draft in April. He hasn’t got an agent yet so he could still change his mind but he most likely will be leaving his legacy at Oklahoma for a career.

Big East: UCONN played an extremely emotional game on saturday by honoring jasper howard. After many lead changes, West Virginia pulled away in the end and solidified itself as a contender for the Big East crown. Pitt won big against USF and is contending against Cincy and WVU for the Big East BCS berth.

Pac 10: In a game of revenge, USC tried to obliterate Oregon State. However the Beavers were extremely resilient and held on throughout the whole game, losing by 7 in the final minute.

SEC: Alabama squeaked by Tennessee in a game that was won by a walrus, seriously. Mount Cody blocked two field goals in the 4th quarter to solidify the two point victory over Tennessee. Leigh Tiffin made 4 field goals which was all Alabama’s offense could get. They define lucky but Florida games define awful officiating. Another terrible call by the refs led to a Florida touchdown that should have been called back. They ended up beating Miss State by 10 due to the awful calls. Tim Tebow had 2 pick-6′s and is now down in the heisman race.

Big Ten: Pryor bounced back excellently with over 200 yards 2 touchdowns, and over 100 rushing yards. They won 38-7 against an injured Minnesota team. Iowa beat MSU on literally the final play. MSU is definetly much better than their record indicates.

Master Projects

Hello Loyal Viewers. Friday in engineering, we split off into our master project groups. There are 4 groups and 4 different projects. My group consist of myself, Murphy, Schuster, Kyle Seebohm, Alex, Deandre, and John. Our project is an assisted hand thing, i dont know its sounds dumb but oh well.

We have to do our research papers first. Mine is about individual organization and contribution. I am going to start it after i finish this blog. Today is Monday and i am blogging about last week because i was no able to last week.

NCAAF:

Big East: USF goes to Pitt this weekend in a game where one of the four possible big east champs will be eliminated. Pitt is flying under the radar and their quarterback is one of the top 5 QB’s in pass efficiency. This game could go either way. UCONN is traveling to WVU in honor of Jasper Howard.

ACC: Georgia Tech goes to Virginia to play the leader of the Atlantic division. If GT wins out, they would need a Miami loss to go to the ACC championship. Miami plays Clemson who can be extremely dangerous with two of the most explosive players in the game, C.J. Spiller and James Ford. Clemson is looking to upset UM .

Big 12: Texas is looking to start off the second half of the season with a win at MIZZ. This game and Oklahoma State are the only two remaining hurdles to an undefeated season. Sam Bradford is going to have season-ending surgery and is still deciding on whether or not to come back next year.

Pac 10: USC looks to avenge their lone loss last year to Oregon State. Look for a close game that could go down to the wire.

SEC: Alabama plays upset minded Tennessee at home. Florida goes to Mississippi State and should easily handle them.

Big Ten: Ohio State looks to bounce back after a disappointing loss with a home win over Minnesota. Minnesota is decent but i dont think they have it in them to beat OSU (knock on wood). Iowa looks to stay unbeaten with a road trip to unpredictable MSU. This game could be extremely close and could come down to the wire.

Test Time

Hello loyal viewers, sorry for my abscence but I was unable to blog last week due to module work and tests. Last Monday, Schuster and I finished our extra Lap for the AC/DC module, and began our career papers. Tuesday was the last day of our module and we took our tests. There were eleven questions that weren’t covered in the module so by omitting those questions, i only got one wrong.

We were notified that we would be starting our master projects last week after we finished our modules. However, Mr. Kastenberg was not present on Wednesday or Thursday, so we watched Mythbusters both days.

NCAAF

Big East:

It looks like the Big East championship is down to four teams, Cincy, USF, WVU, and Pitt. I would also like to take a minute and acknowledge my condolences to the UCONN football team. On Sunday, on of the leaders on the team, Jasper Howard, was stabbed and killed on campus. I send my bests to his family and friends.

ACC:

Georgia Tech upset Virginia Tech ove r the weekend and is now tied at the top of the coastal with Miami who has the head to head win. Whoever wins the Coastal division will most likely win the ACC and it seems to be a three team race between Ga Tech, Va Tech, and UM

Big 12:

Texas beat Oklahoma on Saturday 16-13. Texas now has a clear shot to the BCS national championship game if they dont slip up like they did last year. Sam Bradford when down with another shoulder injury, the same shoulder that was hurt against BYU. I wish him the best of luck.

Pac 10: USC beat Notre Dame in the final seconds, with Notre Dame on the USC 4 yard line. Notre Dame does seem to be a legit top 25 team but they’ll need to win out to solidify it.

SEC: Alabama better thank their lucky stars that they have a kicker like leigh tiffin. He had 4 field goals that lead to an Alabama victory over the Gamecocks. Florida and the SEC should, on the other hand should be totally embarassed. Florida beat Arkansas with a last second field goal. However Arkansas was driving with a little more than a minute left when SEC officials called a personal foul on Arkansas. They punted and Florida drove down the field and scored. Later, video replay showed no evidence of a personal foul at all. The officials who made the call have been suspended till Nov. 14th. This was the same officiating crew that called the two personal fouls during the Georgia and LSU game that cost UGA the game. However this penalty is not big enough because if it weren’t for that call Arkansas would’ve won that game. The SEC is known to have its refs favor the higher ranked team so they can stay highly ranked. I am outraged about this. SEC officials should no longer be allowed to officiate SEC games.

Big 10: After being down 10 points at the start of the second half, Iowa bounced back and beat Wisconsin by 10. They are now 7-0. Ohio State lost to Purdue by 8. Many fans are screaming to bench Pryor after he had 4 turnovers. I would like to say that in my mind he shouldn’t be benched at all. Everyone has bad games and he will bounce back and be the star he will become
